| On Thursday, October 31, we will have our annual Halloween Parade. All students and staff are encouraged to dress up or wear orange & black. The parade will take place in the gym at 9:00 am. Many students are in the midst of planning their costumes this year. Please remember that it is district policy that replica weapons of any sort are not permitted at school. Also, we ask that students also don't wear masks at school. |

| Warm Clothing Drive |

| Winter Warm Clothing Drive - November 4th to 6th It is time for our annual Winter/Warm Clothing Drive to collect donations for our sister school, Forsythe Road. The drive will be held from November 4-6. This is a great opportunity for you to clear out your closets while helping Surrey families in need. Used warm weather clothing in good condition can be brought to the school's main entrance during the 20 minutes before drop off and pick up each day. Forsyth Road Elementary has grown in the past couple of years and many families are recent international arrivals. They are in great need of warm clothing from infant through adult sizes, including: * long sleeve shirts or t-shirts that can be layered * hoodies/sweaters * pants * warm clothing for infants * winter footwear (boots and shoes) * jackets and outerwear * hats, scarves, mittens/gloves * rain and snow gear * Socks and underwear |

Our Outreach Committee organizes the collection and distribution of Christmas Hampers to families in need at our sister school Forsyth Elementary. Each division will have the opportunity to contribute. Donations will be collected between November 25th - December 6th, 2024. Information on the families needs will be forwarded by the classroom parent of each division. As a reminder, families dropping off cash and gift card donations please hand in to the office. We have asked that these be labeled with your child’s division number. If you have any questions, please email outreach@larondepac.ca. |

Staff and students are invited to wear traditional clothing or any attire that represents their unique heritage and family background. It’s a wonderful chance to share, appreciate, and learn about each other's cultures. This is also a fantastic opportunity for families to start exploring and discussing their cultural heritage with their children. Whether it’s learning about traditional clothing, preparing a special dish, or sharing a family story, these conversations can deepen our understanding in who we are. | The Annual Laronde Craft Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18th 2:30-4:30pm . An email was sent out on Tuesday November 12, 2024 regarding important new details and information along with a link to register. This year's Craft Fair won't be allowing any food items to be sold, The cost to participate is $5 per participant, to cover the cost of table rentals, students will keep all their earnings from items sold. The deadline to register is December 6th, however there are limited spots available and it is first come, first serve. Please sign up soon to avoid disappointment. Happy Crafting! |
