| Christmas Hamper Drive (last day) |

| November 25th - December 6 - Christmas Hamper Drive. Our Outreach Committee organizes the collection and distribution of Christmas Hampers to families in need at our sister school Forsyth Elementary. Each division will have the opportunity to contribute. Donations will be collected between November 25th - December 6th, 2024. Information on the families needs will be forwarded by the classroom parent of each division. As a reminder, families dropping off cash and gift card donations please hand in to the office. We have asked that these be labeled with your child’s division number. If you have any questions, please email outreach@larondepac.ca. |

| The Annual Laronde Craft Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18th 2:30-4:30pm . An email was sent out on Tuesday November 12, 2024 regarding important new details and information along with a link to register. This year's Craft Fair won't be allowing any food items to be sold, The cost to participate is $5 per participant, to cover the cost of table rentals, students will keep all their earnings from items sold. The deadline to register is December 6th, however there are limited spots available and it is first come, first serve. Please sign up soon to avoid disappointment. Happy Crafting! |

| Screenagers - Elementary School Age Edition (Friday December 13, 2024) Laronde elementary will be hosting a newly updated version of Screenagers - Elementary School Age Edition. The film will be shown on Friday, Dec 13th during class time in the library starting at 1:15 pm. run time of 55 minutes. All Laronde parents are welcome. This screening is for parents/caregivers only, no students. This new version of the original Screenagers movie addresses issues that elementary school aged kids, parents and educators are facing, i.e., smartwatches in class, unhooking from and monitoring video gaming, social media pressures, exposure to technology at too young of an age, and what research shows is a healthy amount of screen time, and will offer solutions to these and other challenges. Through insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions for empowering kids to navigate the digital world and find balance in their lives. ** Please note this is the updated and most current version of the first film from the series. This will be new for everyone, even those that came to previous screenings. |
